I am not realy a birder, but I saw this fellow taking a rest just off the foot path by one of the ponds of the Nature center. After the shot I sat down, and he came right up to me asking for lunch. When I told him that I had no food he waddled to the pond, hopped in, and paddled off.

Canon 5DMKII, Sigma 150mm macro, MT_24 twin flash, handheld.

WOW, 76 views and not one reply? What's the point in posting?

Hey Thunder my mountain goat images have 89 views with no reply but I don't sweat the small stuff. Honestly I don't care. If the members find them uninteresting who am I to tell them what they should or should not find interesting. If someone else had posted the same images I did I, also, may not have replied.

well I will reply. Its beautiful.

Its not a bad photo, but the thing is that most people don't reply unless you really toss something with some "WOW!" at them. We've seen hundreds of duck photos, and honestly this one isn't any different. I'm not saying its a bad photo, it just doesn't have much wow factor and is pretty run-of-the-mill.

If you want CC, I'd reccomend next time you don't use flash, or at least tone it down. The lighting doesn't appear all that balanced and washes out the feathers a tad.

Togalive, your thoughts are mine exactly. After looking at images on a daily basis over a specific time period how many ducks, eagles, cardinals, deer, spiders do we view? After a while it becomes so routine that there does need to be a "wow" factor to entice people to respond.
