Soo... does anyone have any opinions?? Glad to hear them they may be helpful! :)

1. shutter is too slow. Motion blur on the kid in the back

2. face is underexposed. You need flash or reflector

3. Best of the bunch.

thanks! #3 is the most recent I have found that I love the outside photos. Here is a few more that were taken in February this year.

I'm still learning myself, so I don't have anything too technical to add, just what catches my eye. So, with that.....

#1. The girl in the crib is out of focus and there is some dead space in the picture that is distracting. You also cut the girl that is standing hand off and the girl in the cribs fingers off.

#2. The girl is a bit dark and flat. Also, the light seems to be all behind her...if you had used your light a bit better, you would have had a better picture. I would also crop the top of the picture closer to her head, since this is a close up.

#3. Again, you cut/cropped her at her elbow. It just seems like an awkward angle that you took the picture at (or cropped).

If you want your photos to look better you're going to need to use supplimental lighting, either from a simple reflector or from an off camera strobe light (flash).

And, if you don't already have them, you might want to get a couple of inexpensive books:
Beyond Portraiture: Creative People Photography

Learning to See Creatively: Design, Color & Composition in Photography (Updated Edition)

Understanding Exposure, 3rd Edition: How to Shoot Great Photographs with Any Camera

Understanding Flash Photography: How to Shoot Great Photographs Using Electronic Flash

Thanks that helps I don't have any books yet have been looking into some just wasn't quite sure where to start. :)

My main problem with these pictures are that not all the kid's faces are in focus and that the exposure seems a little off to me.

I really like #3. It's by far the best. BUT I will add that not everyone likes portraits with dramatic angles like that so be prepared to get mixed reviews. I, however, am a fan of odd angles and natural light so keep shooting!. :)

Thanks that is my favorite also. I love the different angles and try to mix it up some it's ok if people don't like it. It's one of my ideas and like it or hate it I OWN it! :)
