#4 is best
i would prefer a little more subject matter in all of them

This reminds me a lot of the normal early stage photographer mind set which is, "Think artistic and minimalistic because that is what the greats do." Excellent style to emulate however a dark and out of focus flower, a twig, a street light (which by the way, is very much cropped out of the photo. This would be the point however there is very very little subject matter because of it), and finally a nice and simple sunset with a little brush coverage grounding the viewer.

::One of these things, is not like the other:: haha

1. Out of focus, dark, muddy, monochromatic. Nothing makes this image stand out :| Bringing in colors if you want to add excitement, or increasing shadow contrast to increase drama. Either suggestion would breath a bit of life into this.

2. Just at twig down the center, the shape of it is interesting however I feel this is one of those personal shots that you hold near if anything. The sun keeps on ripping my eye from the subject because it is in such a dark part of the photo.

3. Gray, streetlight, little contrast, little subject matter. Just not much to even talk about in this photo, the sky looks a bit depressing. A streetlight doesn't say depressing to me though, so I don't know what kind of emotion you were really going for.

4. Sun setting in the rolling clouds with a little shrubbery to ground the eye in space and time. This is the best out of the group, and it does not try the hardest to work. The other shots tend to be more of those creative shots that a bit more experienced people tend to pull off. I think it is very good to experiment, and that you should keep it up. Just try to keep these notes in mind next time :)

On no.1, if you are that close to the subject, go for a much smaller aperture opening (f/8 to f/12 might work better) for a much better depth of field. Tried sharpening and enhanced the color to make it a lot more interesting. Yuo can now see the texture of the paper on the center part or the photo

On no.2, crop it and use portrait orientation. Apply the Rule of Thirds. I removed the bright thingy on the right side. It is distracting

On no. 3, I couldn't find a story, sorry I have no C&C for this one.
On no. 4, crop the upper part. There is too much idle space. Being the best amongst the 4, I played with it a little. Putting some sun flare made it very interesting.

i wouldnt get in the habit of bumping the saturation up to 100% though

I like the edits on those other ones, they are really nice
Thanks, everyone :D
Tonight im going to try some pictures of the super moon, any suggestions for good settings ? Going to be using my 55-250
Thankyou!

Thanks, Anthony, for being a good sport and allowing me to play with the pictures. No, I did not bump up the saturation 100%. I was very much surprised to see the colors bursting out when I adjusted the white balance, levels, curves, exposures, and channel mixers. They were just there for us to discover. I didnt expect a blue background behind the dried flower.

Thanks again, Anthony. Cheers from Manila Philippines
