Didn't get as much time out shooting today as I had planned, but I wasn't too disappointed. Nothing fantastic as most of the creatures were still hiding, and those which did come out only allowed me one or two shots at most, but I'll get another shot later this week and will hopefully come back with some better shots then.

All CC is welcome and appreciated, besides that, I just hope you enjoy them!

    1. I could do without the obscuring branch in this one. Overall I'm not a fan of the composition, but I liked the head feathers too much not to post it ;)

2.My main issue is the small blade of grass in the way, besides that, I generally like the shot. The tail was hidden beneath leaves, hence why you don't see it.

    3. Probably my favorite from today. It was a new bird for me to shoot, and I liked the lighting on the head. That and these guys were great to watch stuffing their faces!

    4. Finally a decent shot of an Anna's! My second favorite from today, I can't help but love the iridescent feathers hummingbirds have.

    5. My first try at shooting a butterfly. I'm not crazy about this one, but man was it difficult even getting a shot of this quick little guy! I could do without the washing out on the leaves, the light was pretty harsh.

    Enjoy!

Nice shots Toga :) the two hummingbirds are my fav. I would have posted the first one for the same reason ;) and the second is wonderful, I LOVE their plumage and can't wait for them to migrate back here again so I can play!

A really nice set. Picture 5 is my favorite. It could use a slight crop just to the top of the 2nd to top bud. I do these with two paper right angles on my screen. Makes a huge difference to an already super image. Picture 4 is my 2nd favorite. Same deal, a slight crop of just less then a inch off the top makes it the equal of picture 5. I really like your Hummingbird image. The twig doesn't bother me because my focus was the head and the flower, and the wing movement just makes it a moot point. As for picture 3 it's rock solid. Love how you managed to get the bird without a single twig or branch in the way.

Yes, #1 is my favorite because of the colors on the head.
