A few questions about editing programs

What do you guys use? I'm assuming you all have Photoshop (either Elements or CS). I see PP used quits a bit as an acronym for some program, what is that?

I know Picasa or Paint.net don't have the same abilities as PS, but I mostly use them to edit my stuff. I'm actually intimidated by PS, but I plan on getting it as well as one of those Photoshop for Dummies books.

Any other programs I should be on the lookout for?

pp stands for post processing.

when you out grow what your using, when might think about Elements.

there are several other free programs that will do a lot of things the basic photographer needs, i.e. photoscape being one.

and .... yeah ... i use photoshop

Photoshop cs3 and lightroom here. Though I do use the gimp/gimpshop a lot.
