3 A ray of sun was on this Catbird and I had to shoot it through some bushes...

6 So the sun hadn't really appeared yet, but I still wanted the shot. This is ISO 20K from the D500. I wanted to see if I could still get a use-able web size image at 1600px..

Nice. 20k ISO? Looks pretty good.

Nice captures Kris. I like the first one the best.

Great work. #3 would be interesting with a caption.
Thanks WG and AC

I found it pretty amazing that I could actually salvage images at this high of an ISO and could actually get a decent 8x10 print out of it... The fact that there was still some detail left to work with is pretty groovy with a crop camera..

Very good as always! What kind of noise reduction did you use on the Is 20K shot? I'm thinking of increasing my max ISO to 6400 on my D7200.

All of them are fantastic....# 1 is magnificient......

Thanks for all the kind words!

It took a lot of work. LR at default 25 took care of the color noise. I masked the bird in PS and did back ground NR and some manual blurring. Like most cameras it can be hit or miss. If you bump your limit up to 6400 try to shoot a little ETTR. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. Depends on many things like the subject, the light, etc...
