Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Here are a few new headshots i did with my new setup. Got my Canon 580 ex II flash, with pocket wizards in on wed. Also shooting with my new tamron 70-200 f/2.8, one thing i noticed the whole shoot was my need for a reflector, maybe even another speedlight;). But seriously, im hooked to speedlighting as of now, it will become an obsession, i can already tell. CC please!

I was pretty happy with this shot, but I could have used a reflector to cut out some of the shadows on the left side of the face. The tree in the left side of the frame is aggravating to me aswell, should of watched it while is was composing the shot.

Most of you will prolly gag when you see this photo, thats the point. The Thizz face, some **** they have going in California where the dude is from. He wants to post it on his facebook for all his kinfolk to see back home. Not to sure about the shot other than i like the ways its lighted, he wanted it done pretty much exactly the way it is, so i didn't argue it.

Simple brick wall shot, im sure everyone has seen a million and one of them, but its still effective for me atleast. Most of today was getting used to my new equipment, learning placement and all that good stuff.

This was me just experimenting with his hair, lol. It didn't come out exactly the way i wanted it, but its in the right ballpark. I didn't want to see much of his face, and i wanted the light shining through his hair. Thats all i really knew, this is what i got.

#1 is money, exposure wise. You can easily clone out that tree.

#2 is underexposed a bit, and a horrible face lol

#3 doesn't do much for me, can't tell if the exposure is correct or if his facial expression is bothering me ... there is something, just can't put my finger on it lol.

#4 I can see the art in the shot, but could use a little more lighting on the face.

#5 A MILLION TIMES better portrait than the first you had of your mom that you posted. A MILLION

I like photo 1 and as Geaux already said you can clone that tree out.

I didn't see the earlier pic of your mum but I like this one, it is a nice natural shot.

I left photo 4 to last because there is something about this shot which I really like. I think it would have worked if you could have taken the shot so the sky and leaves were the only backdrop - perhaps if you had got down just a little lower and taken the shot slightly upwards towards the sky getting some nice natural light on his head and face? The black shadow/tree on the lefthand side blocks the light and is distracting. For me the hair in the foreground doesn't work but I do like the way the hair in the background swings out to frame his face. If you shoot this again, try for more light and watch out for background stuff and you'll have a good photo

Thanks for the comments and CC Geaux and phototish. The shoot should have went much better, i was shooting the whole damn thing near wide open like a dummy, cuz loved what i was seeing with the new long lens. Im over it now lol,

C&C per req:

1. A nice shot. The only improvement would be a fill light set camera left to bring a little bit of detail in the middle area of his hair.

2. As noted, a stop or so under-exposed which is recoverable, but unfortunately, I think the expression relegates this one to 'Not quite good enough for Facebook'.

3. I like this, but remember, just because you've got a 2.8 lens, you don't always have to shoot at 2.8; the hairs in sharp focus, but you can already see sharpness falling off across his face. I would like to see his head turned just a little more so all of his left eye was visible.

4. This is just plain neat!

5. Spot on!

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.
