A First For Me

[Dean_Gretsch]

I found these eggs this morning when I took Miss Daisy for her walk. They were lying on a gravel bank of a roadway next to a marsh. I think they might be snapping turtle eggs. I estimate their size at 30mm or approximately 1 1/8". I could see an excavation about 3-4 ft away in the same bank but no eggs were visible there. Maybe something digging in search of food?

Looks like someone had a midnight snack of snapping turtle omelette.
