A hummer from 35 feet away

Two real nice images, #2 is my fav.

I'll say number one for me as well.

Good shootin', Tim! Far better than the title had made me expect!

Yeah...there's been a LOT of improvement in long-tele zooms....Canon's new 100-400, Nikon's new AF-S 80-400, Nikon's new 200-500 (I got to try that one out two weekends ago), plus long Sigma and Tamron zooms ranging up to 500mm and 600mm at the long end...this is a VERY nice range to have access to for narrow-angle work!

For many years, I used the old Nikon 80-400 VR, but it got outdated and was no longer good enough for 24-megapixel images...everything looked soft...I guess that's why noth Canon and Nikon have updated their bread and butter long-tele zooms recently.

You did pretty good for being 35 feet away!

Thanks Derrel. I got the original Tamron 150-600 when it came out and found that I had to stop down to F8 to get sharp images and 600 was always soft. When the new 100-400 Canon came out I got it and sold the Tamron and I can shoot it wide open and get very sharp images. I read that the new Tamron 150-600 has been improved as well as the Sigma. It's hard to keep up with technology.
