But the title fits better the first picture.
For this guy in the mill, unshaved face is a part of the job ? Just to look right for the epoch ?

I think the lack of definition in the blacks hurt these.

Well then it must be blindingly bright.

Overall I think that darkness hurts the finished product. Also I think the grain is too much that it covers up any details that would add to the character of the subject.

Not crazy about the poses but I don't want to be too harsh.
