Warmed them up a bit and cropped them....they were shot using a sigma 50-500mm....I tried to reproduce what I saw rather than what the camera gave me...which was alot cooler in colour tones

Well, your post-processing work is, as always, masterful. And I really like the second image. Although it shows less vulnerability, it makes the colt more clearly visible and yet still close to the mare.
