Didn't realize how fast their tongues moved, or I would have had a higher shutter speed! But now I know for next time.

I have Sneks and Snakes all over my neck of the woods and in the summer months it is not unusual to see Water Moccasins, Copperheads, Coral Snakes, Pygmy and Diamondback Rattlers. It makes wearing Wellington Boots a must.

Looks like a common Garter Snake. Round eyes are non-venomous.

I'm no expert, but it looks like a black racer. Also non-venomous.
