I like it but I'd photoshop out the bright orbs right behind her head and lose a good portion of the dead space behind her. Like this, but that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before lol

Love the background and the lighting but the pose looks forced, hands are stiff. And is she tilted back ? But this is not my area of expertise, she isn't running or hitting or throwing something lol

I find her top to be FAR too bold. It dominates the image... IMHO.

I think the vertical crop of your original image is the strongest. The square somehow did not look balanced, with too much background and her head and body position not conducive to what I consider to be an ideal portrait: the vertical crop get away with the excess background and made her more of the focal point of The picture.

You are fortunate to have such a pretty young model, but as noted above the pose looks off and the top isn't the best choice for her, color or style. There's something odd about the sunflowers in the background, did you by chance blur them post? Lastly when processing skin don't forget to match the hands or other exposed skin.

I too noticed the blur of the background looking odd. I think that I used the 85 on that shot but no, I didn't add any blur. Yes, this girl loves to take pictures and will shoot any time i ask.

Yeah, looks like my son wiped a booger on the lens lol
you know, I was too mad that I cropped her fingers off to notice it, but now that you said it I can't unsee it.
I'm not sure I could crop it out...

I am planning to go to Mobile to do some seascape photography and let the kids swim. Can you recommend any locations?
We drove down to Biloxi and got so lucky, there was a campground a stone's throw from the beach. 20 bucks a night and I think round trip, is less that $100 bucks in gas.
Not bad.. kids get to play AND me too. lol

Yup a HOTEL POOL. As of a 5 days ago all 21 Mississippi gulf beaches were closed due to toxic algae. Alabama beaches have been closed off and on all summer. As of a few days ago the algae bloom was still confined to Mississippi, but with the surge in temperatures that might change. Throughout the summer there's been numerous cases along the coast of a flesh eating bacteria contracted from the water. Several serious injuries and a few deaths, have been reported. I'd make sure to pay attention to the warnings, and not go in the water with any cuts, or skin breaks. As beaches go, I prefer Gulf Shores for it's clean white sand. Gulf Shores State Park, has a really nice beach area, and the mile long pier. We'll be going south next month, had intended on going to Gulf Shores, but with all the warnings, we may drift over to NO, and skip the beach till cold weather.

If you do go to Mobile, don't forget the USS Alabama and the museum. It is really something to see, and the kids will enjoy.

If you get closer to Pensacola, you need to go to NAS Pensacola. They have an outstanding museum there, lots of planes, and NAS is home to the Blue Angels. If they're in town they have practice days open to the public, parking, and admission to the bleachers, and the museum is free. Here's a link to NAS https://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/attractions/blue-angels/ there's a schedule there. If you go to practice, there's a wide concrete apron between the hangers and the bleachers. The bleacher seating is kind of tight, hard to swing a long lens without hitting someone, so I stand on the concrete apron up next to the fence. Heads up warning, pay attention, one slipped in from the Gulf right over me, almost made me wet my pants. There are numerous really nice beaches between Gulf Shores and Pensacola.

I remember you saying something about that. I guess we got lucky and was there when it was open. We didn't know anything about it and was all in there swimming but ****, now that i think about it, we did pretty much have the whole beach to ourselves. Everyone still has their flesh.
So this flesh-eating bacteria is a common thing around those parts?
