is there a reason why any attempt I make to upload a picture fails?

I use imgur with no problems. I'm a supporting member so I guess I get a bunch of uploads for galleries or something but I can't make sense of the tiny print that explains it on my profile page.

It's considered a rite of passage at TPF. Difficulty in uploading/posting has been reduced over the years, but it is still a tricky issue for a percentage of TPF'ers...
