What do you think? The flash was infront of me (above the mirror), using a homemade flash diffuser with a shoebox, waxpaper, and aluminum foil:lmao:

Comments and critiques please!

It's not a "real" self portrait till you remove the camera from in front of your face.

Your lighting looks very nice though.

camera needs to go, then I will like it better, right now its 2/10, but lighting I give 9.5/10

Cool shot. The strap across the front is a little distracting, as are all the cords and gear (the headphones seem like overkill). Overall I like it though, nice job!

Thanks! all with a homemade diffuser ;)

Haha my mom said the headphones were obnoxious, but they sound soo good!

Well whooopss. All i meant by self portrait was a portrait of me that represents my two favorite things; music and photography. :lmao:

Why? Because i love my photo gear and listening to music?

Hard to critique if you're going to get defensive about the responses. But I'll give it a shot ... would u take a photo of someone else who covered their face and call it a portrait? I think the lighting works for this shot, and always neat to see a homemade item work (diffuser), but i don't like the NIKON backward mirror reflection.

I'll clarify.

The reversing makes it look unprofessional, it's poorly lit, the wiring takes away from the composition, the camera makes you not the subject

It's very much like a 14-year-olds myspace photo from several years ago with a more expensive camera

I beg to differ that a 14 year old would be able to take this photo, then go and edit it in lr3. Maybe, but thats really beside the point. I feel like this is much better than a "poser" photo used as a myspace profile picture.

Thank you for your "critique"

Like other said, its not really a portrait. last time i took a pictures like this it was to show some friend my new Camera. your showing camera here, not a person.

light is good. It could have been a really nice picture of you.

You can even see more face on this photo :)
