Well I think you nailed this one with the composition and the focus for me is spot on, the dark background cuts out any distractions, the light is great and just the right amount of water too but do feel a fresher rose would have made this perfect! But that subjective and really depends on what you were after.
Just my thoughts.

thanks all. I got some great shots of roses that were much nicer than this one, but i loved how the water dripped off of the wilting bottom petal in this one..it really added to the shot, so using this particular (not so lively) rose was indeed intentional.
