A shot at Black and White

I am quite new to black and white. All I did for this picture was click my previously edited photo and set it to "Grayscale" on LightRoom.
Please leave me tips on how to better capture Black and White images.

Wow, I'm afraid there's not much here that I like.

Nothing really looks in focus. Those bridge pyles are so fuzzy they hurt my eyes.
The reflection of the tension tower and power lines
There's no balance beteween the left and right sides
Overall muddy

Sorry, but I really can't find anything positive to work with

I second that. I think I understand the idea of this take. The problem is not all emotions you can have while looking at the subject will transfer onto the photograph. Especially b&w. There maybe no rules for a good photo, but we cannot escape the rules of composition. How Rick said, there is no balance no matter which way you will look at this picture.

I think you should study more fundamental photo stuff.....not sure how studying black and white specifically would help. This photo has a bunch of "fundamental" issues. Good luck
