A Splendid Morning

I got up early for a hike at a nearby wildlife sanctuary. It was a spectacular morning. These aren't the best photos but the pond was mirror still making for great reflections.

And I caught this pair on the pond. I could hear her squawking non-stop for a full hour as I walked around the pond. Every 5-10 minutes they would pick up and fly to another spot on the pond, eventually landing where I could get a shot through the trees.

We are under a stay at home advisory, and are allowed out for walks and exercise if we maintain our social distancing. I was there at 6:30 a.m. figuring I would see few if any others. Indeed I did not see another sole the entire time I was there. And it's the best time to find wildlife.

Nice set. Around here we can go out for exercise as well but background checks have almost come to a halt. Brings to mind the famous quote, "Never let a crisis go to waste."
