A Stick to Build a Nest

Nice! I admit, I don't always click on the photos to view them enlarged, but glad I did with this one. Really looks good at the larger size.

That heron's beak looks oddly stout and short. It seems to just be the perspective, the way its turned slightly and maybe the stick in its mouth too, but it looks misleadingly short! That's not a slight against the photo, just an observation I found interesting.

Very nice! The perspective that Sharon mentioned makes the heron look a wee bit maniacal.

When they carry nesting material or even a fish they have to retract their necks to maintain flight balance. Of course being at a slight head-on POV also foreshortens the neck a bit.
