Does shooting him with a sling shot loaded with a heavy Ball bearing count. I probably would release one end of the camera strap and let him hold to one end. Capture it in B&W then review the image and if it looks good then release the other end of the strap and let him be on his way.:meh:

I think you've all missed the real answer here, which is that the photojournalist would shoot the image with an i-phone, which is all the newspaper gave them.
