A Vision

In my wanderings around the house looking for something to take a picture of, I found a large tissue-paper flower that was on one of my daughter's birthday presents. I saw a picture in there and went about trying to capture it, but not sure I quite captured it yet. Here is what I came up with so far.

Very nice,. I like it. This is something to slowly study if hung on the wall. Quite pleasant play of the light.

I find the lost details as you look further down inside the tissue to be a drag and distracting to my eye.

I'm not 100% on board with this one--at least not at this stage.

I'm not on board either. Too mixed up. No smooth lines or balance. I get confusion...

Fair enough on all of the comments, helps me work out where to go next. Thanks for all of them.

I think basically I need a slightly more 'regular' or 'softer' texture for this to work, if that makes any sense.

I think you need a much softer light and coming from only one direction with perhaps a small reflector card tossing back a 1/4 to 1/2 stop.

I don't know. I think I'll join team Timor on this one. I kind'a like it except maybe the top right corner gets lost in the dark.
