A Weekend Adventure With a Fellow TPF'er

Scott let me use his Sigma 150-500 for a bit. He is definitely just as cool IRL!! ;)
Actually, he would have let me use it for longer than I did, but I was afraid that I'd be using it when the really "great shot opportunity" came along, and I'd miss focus or something...I really wanted the better photographer using the better equipment!
Actually you could have used it for as long as you wanted. I had been up since 3:30 and was really eyeing that bench as a place to take a nap ;) Plus, there is the fact that you could well have gotten the shot I would have missed. Your eagles are better than mine are, and there are no guarantees for anyone when shooting photographs.

Regardless, it was a lot of fun and I appreciate your coming.

Oh, how fun, a meetup!! Looks like you guys saw a lot and had a fun day!
Need to setup a Pa meetup...:-P

If you promise to bring the whips, I'll buy the booze, whipped cream and I'll have Bitter flown in via private jet.

Sharon, neat that you and Scott had a meetup. I like your shots of the eagles. Too bad you couldn't get closer to the cranes, but as I have said before - we bird photographers have to take what we can get, when we can get it. It is really neat to watch the ducks scatter when the baldies fly overhead. I was in Viera last year and watched a bunch of Coots go crazy as a large mature bald eagle flew over the pond. Unfortunately, it was too dark to get any decent shots of it all.
