I have pictures of Limpy, a ruffed grouse who used to live near our feeders. Pretty much lame in one leg. He lived over 5 years, and that is great for a grouse loving in the wild. I suspect because at the first sign of danger he had to take off to get away. While able bodied grouse tend to s
run first, then take off if the predator is gaining on them. No other grouse that visits our feeders last more than 2 years. SO ya, maybe disabled but possibly not disadvantaged.

5 years for a wild pet, he definitely needed a name.
