A few of my favorites from my last photo session. What do you think?

As opposed to those giant Yorkies one usually sees? ;)

C&C per req:

1. Nice, but insufficient DoF . I think his whole head and paws should be in sharp focus. It also appears as if the light on the top of his head may be a bit hot.

2. Very cute; a touch tightly cropped image left, and I think it would have been even better had her head been turned just a little more to the camera.

3. As with people portraits, avoid cropping off little bits of limbs. The tip of her left paw is gone, and she really should be looking more toward the camera.

They're a nice set, but the background in 1 & 3 really hurts the images. The stark contrast is very distracting. #2 on the other hand is much the better for the plain, white background.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

Thanks John, I appreciate the comments! I bought a large teacup (actually a teacup planter) as a prop and planned on getting a bunch of shots with her in it... she's only 4lbs but looked like a giant and very awkward in the teacup. I had to improvise and the zebra print caught my eye... should have know it might be too flashy for a background.

Oh and I'm very much a big dog lover... so she just seems so teeny tiny to me lol.

Thanks again!

I agree with what tirediron wrote. Especially on the background! On #3, where the background is in focus and then goes out of focus, that looks really bad. Almost like those patterns that play tricks on your eyes....VERY distracting! Very cute pup, though! :)
