I say: yes. It does work.
I like the sight as such (when I see it with my own eyes), I like the frame closing in on a pleasing sight, I like the colour (yes, I also like yellow!) and I like the light! Backlit leaves are almost as good as light green is .

I would prefer it if it had a focus. At the moment there is nothing that draws the eye. The colours are great though.

i was trying to just sorta go for an abstracty feeling of color, no focus really, just color.
i cropped it down and took out some bits of sky and branches which were drawing my attention till i felt i could not really focus on any one point of the photo
