Acheiving this phot effect?

Hello,

I just wanted to know if there is a certain way to achieve this certain effect applied to most boxing posters. It's a very cool/dark overlay with extreme contrast in shading and lighting. Here are some examples. Thank you

A combination of lighting when the photo is taken as well as some post processing techniques.

The biggest key is the lighting: multiple lights from multiple directions including "horror" lighting (light from below). The lights are all extremely high contrast (physically very small) and the location doesn't allow for any light bounce back e.g. from a nearby wall.

Post processing includes excessive sharpening and of course coloration.
