I'm trying to learn how to take action (motion) shots. I have a Canon S5 IS Digital Camera. A few quick questions...

Is this camera adequate to take action shots?

Is the quality of the shot relative to the shutter speed, lens, or camera quality? (possibly all of the above)

If this camera is not adequate for motion shots, have any suggestions that are relatively well priced?

Thanks.

I have a Canon S5 IS and you can do action shots with the Sports mode of the camera. I use the continuous shooting option with it and shoot away trying to capture my busy busy toddler. What are you looking to photograph? The sports mode is not manual and you cannot set f-stop, shutter speed, or ISO with it. I believe the sports mode uses a pretty high ISO too...I'll check my pics at home. The continuous shooting is at 1.5 frames per second...still not fast enough for me so I'll be upgrading when I get the money.
