Action sport at night question

Great advice on attending a practice if possible. I'd suggest ISO 6400 and 1/500 for a few test shots, it really will depend on the lighting, some are worse than others. And remember, not every shot has to be an action shot. Some of my favorite shots are of the interaction between player and coach. Or just between the players.

Thanks to everyone that responded. The information and suggestions have been great. I have several options to work with.

I will be bringing the camera on Monday to an away game. This will give me an opportunity to try most, if not all, of the suggestions that have been presented. I will hopefully have some pictures later next week for you all to critique.
