When shooting mtb or bmx, I usually try to get the whole jump/drop in the picture so people can see that he's actually hitting a 10 footer and not just a small 2 foot drop or something like that. I think if you were able to get his whole front wheel in shot #2 and maybe his face and body a little more lit up (fill in flash?) it would've came out good.
