Adobe FileInfo Templates

I find Adobe's FileInfo templates rather simple and lack move advanced options. For example, the templates always replace whats in the fields. I'd like some additions such as appending data to existing fields when the template is loaded, or have templates for on a panel basis rather than it updating fields on all panels.

Does anyone else agree there is a fair bit of room Adobe's overly simple FileInfo templates?
