Advice for dance photoshoot

So I'm happy to admit that I'm a beginner with a lot to learn, my friend in work has a dance class and has asked me to come up to her studio and take some shots

Some of them dancing as they normally would in a group and then afterwards of them posing etc

The studio is very bright which helps and all the walls are white with a few large windows and large mirrors...

I have a canon d mark 1 and I have an external flash for it

I want to get some really nice shots for them all so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
