Advice please

Given a straight choice between the following two, which camera would you recommend for a beginner?

1: Leica Digilux 1 4.0 MP digital SLR

2: Leica V Lux 1

both seem like a waste of money to me. you can get a smayang with leica optics and save a ton of cash and get just as mediocre of pictures. For what #2 costs you could get a canon t2i and a 50mm prime for almost the same price of less.

Say DiskoJoe. Are you ever going to get that shift key fixed on your keyboard. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I'm with neither.

If it must have that red dot and neither the S2 or M digitals, I'd go with the Digilux 2. If you get one with a non-defective sensor (Leica still replaces them for free if I recall), it has a wonderful nice piece of glass.
