Advice - Social media at a conference

I will be attending a conference at the end of June where am in charge of maintaining our social media networks (twitter, facebook, flickr, etc.) and have been asked to take pictures and short videos for instant upload.

I'm looking into buying a camera or an accessory for my existing equipment that would allow me to take pictures and upload them in near real-time.

I have a Nikon D80 but it could be a bit bulky to carry around all day for 3 days all the while running around. But I'm still open to suggestions on accessories that would allow me to achieve what I'm asked to do.

The camera needs to be able to perform well in low-lighting, and at night on the beach (Chris Hadfield will be there, including fireworks).

Budget under $350.
