after effects.. video editing??

i have a video clip thats over exposed, could anyone fix that for me in after effects or vegas or somethin, i tried myself.. come out horrible

I used Vegas a lot at my last job, and it has some decent tools for exposure, but like photography, once something is too far gone, you can never really get it back...
