Remember this pic from the other day?

Missed the focus, too soft, especially the eyes.... yadda, yadda, yadda....

Well, I, like I said in the title, I just couldn't let it go and I finally had an idea. I swapped her eyes with those from a another pic. It's still got it's issues but I think I can live with this. Yes, I will offer to reshoot and the parents also knew going in that I'm still very much in the practicing stage.

Wow, the eyes are definitely sharper.. nice.. might even have to take back a bit of the sharpening even haha.. When comparing it to the original it looks like the eye on the right could be moved down just a touch.. I think I actually almost prefer the slightly higher position in the 2nd.

Edit: hmm, never mind about the "moved down a touch comment" I had thought you just replaced the irises, but giving it a closer look it looks like you did the whole eye.

Great edit there! Much better than the original :)

Great recovery! Notice how that now the eyes are in focus, the whole photo *appears* to have better focus. Just shows how important those eyes are!

Really well done on this. Bravo!

Ya really good job at swapping the eyes. I wouldnt have been able to tell you did it. Maybe a very slight dodge on the whites of the eyes?

Thank you! I really am quite pleased with it.

J-digg, yes I replaced the whole eye. It ended up being quite an ordeal. I tried doing just the irises thinking it might be easier, but it still looked soft because the eyelashes weren't defined. Also in this one, her head is turned ever so slightly to the left. In the other she was turned a bit to the right. So I had to take each eye, flip it to a mirror image of itself and then place it on the opposite side - rotating to get it lined up just right. Otherwise she appeared that her eyes were looking in different directions. Took me quite a while to get it but I think it was worth it.

I think it's a much improved edit. I am still drawn to her mouth and teeth that seem OOf. If you could sharpen them I think you would have a winner. Just my .02

Yep, thats what really made me realize that it was the whole eye, the eye lashes... sounds like it took a good amount of effort, and I agree - it was worth it.

As mentioned above I would prolly dodge the whites just a bit.
