IMO business shots need less smile, so #1 for business and the others for more social stuff.

All shots pass muster.

What was the lighting? Main, reflector, and hair? They look good!

#2 for the win. Great job.

there different setups shown here.

1, 3, 4 have a large, horizontal, gridded, softbox main and the fill is another large softbox vertically behind it. Hair light and BG light.

2, 5 similar, but the fill was a bounce umbrella on the right side of the camera. and a little less kick on the hair.

6 was butterfly with just the two softboxes. no grid.

I was hoping for a little more gradient in the BG, but once I cropped in a bit, it ended up looking pretty even. Here's the basic setup:

I've been eying this set on Flickr! I really like it! Wonderful set, and a pretty face sure doesn't hurt things!

What's t'her profession? The smiles could work for sales or some other personable profession. Maybe not a funeral director.

The white shirt set are the beat. The color suits her.

She has a PHD in biology and teaches at a university somewhere out in San Fran. She just wanted some shots that could keep her online profiles consistent and decent looking, especially since she has students looking at them. She wanted to smile in these, so I told awful jokes and tried to capture real laughter.

I took about 200 shots and gave her 50 to pick from for me to edit down. The ones above are just the few I picked out that I liked.

This was really my first time having someone sit in front of me for pictures like this.
