Took this at sunrise this morning, not as sharp as I was hoping.

Nice try, birds in flight (BIF) are always tricky to capture. I find that I generally need at least 1/1000 of a second to get this type of shot, particularly when they are flying across my field of view. What was your settings for this one?

Yup, they are really hard. And you did manage to capture the wings at a beautiful point and you managed to compose it well. I've taken a good hundred shots like this and not gotten this close, so you really should feel pretty stoked overall. Keep trying.

I agree, you nailed the colors and composition. We all make mistakes while learning, guess now you will err on the high side for shutter speed.
