Alien flower

I was taking a stroll and spotted this...like many of my pictures, I'm not sure what it is, but I thought it was pretty cool looking. C&Cs welcome, and if you can identify it, by all means, let me know!!

Here's a little closer look at it. I know it may be a little dark and fuzzy but you get the general idea.

I have no idea, but I love the little critter on the un-bloomed flower to the left.
