Almost Got A GND Filter Kit!!!

I was wondering how many you can stack.

That they do! I'm excited! I can't believe I didn't at least order a graduated filter too!!

I was looking at the Lee filters the other day but ended up getting the Cokin P ones instead. figured those would be good enough for me since I still need to learn about filters. Been doing pics for over 20 years and never used filters before. Mine were delivered today and waiting for me at home.

Had a chance to try 'em out yet?!

Snerd, lets fumble our way together on this filter thing. Wanna test them got on some surf and rocks ... maybe Laguna or around Palos Verdes?

Have you tried it out yet?! I can't make it to Laguna, sorry. Actually, same for Palos Verdes too LOL!!

Yes, but I need lots of practice. I took my kids to the beach over the weekend. Only problem is it was super bright so I think I needed one moreof the really dark ones. I'll post one of the pics when I get on my computer.

I've used three stacked at the same time. No problems what so ever.

Below are two of the photos I got. They aren't really good as I wasn't exactly planning to test out the filters at the beach. It was so bright there that I was actually having trouble seeing the settings on the camera and couldn't even view the pics on the LCD screen until I was in the car. I should have brought a hat or something to cover the screen with but this was a last minute trip and I just happened to have the filters with me (as in we were in the car driving and decided "let's drive 3 plus hours to take the kids to the beach for the day", it was their first time going to the beach). I will definitely need to invest in some full ND filters (these were GND which is why it is so overexposed at the bottom, if I had thought about it at the time I would have put one in with the darkened portion at the bottom of the lens). Anyways, I have vacation coming up week after next and hope to be able to get out and play some more after getting at least 2 days of sleep to catch up! I will be sneaking off to the camera store this weekend to purchase a few more filters, my husband would have a fit if he knew how much I spent on "that little piece of plastic". I can't even give him crap in return since he doesn't have any hobbies that he's currently active in since I was mean and made him sell the race car.

Also, these both have 2 minute edit jobs on them. I'm still catching up from end of govt FY at work and haven't had much time to play with my photography - things have been really crazy the past few months!

I have never, ever used the back screen for anything. I don't know, just doesn't seem right to me! Anyway, I use the big Hoodman Eyepiece on both bodies........... nothing but frame to be seen with the 'ole eyeball!

I usually only use it to change my settings and see what the shot looked like once I have taken it. I don't like using it for setting up the shot. It was cloudy when we left but they blew through and it was blinding when we got there.

When shooting landscapes I often hit the info button to view my settings--my camera is often in such awkward places that I could never get my eye to the viewfinder or see the top lcd. And I use it to review the histogram's while shooting too.

I use a Hoodman eyepiece too. Great addition

I use my back LCD for exposure info, I also check histograms from time to time.
I've also started using the shoulder LCD panel on a few things.

On thing I try to do is make sure my Quality is what I think it is. Sometimes I accidentally change it. The back LCD/Info or Shoulder LCD is good for checking that.

I finally got mine attached to my camera this morning for some sunrise shots. I think I messed it up a bit with too many tall elements in the shot (I was in a rush, the sun was coming up and I had to drop the little one at daycare and zip to the beach) but the colours look AH-MAZING on the screen - can't wait to see them out of camera. I'm so excited to play with them!
