You nearly missed framing the girl. Why not use portrait format, and frame closer? (You really don't need to include the arm of the bench in the frame.) Also, this would have been a good time to use a scrim to cut the glare from the sun.

I agree, this is a beautiful girl, crop up and closer where you can get the background and her, too.

I played with it a little bit, but I don't know how to tone down those highlights...especially on the skin...or if they are even fixable. Still learning people myself.

I'd crop it closer to remove the distraction of the arm angles, but I don't know how to fix the overexposed elements. FWIW, I rather like the bright sun and the way it illuminates her skin and hair. What a cutie, too!

only issue I have with your crop (my first crop was like that too) was that her arm blends in with the seat...so it looks like she don't have an arm. I see what you're saying about the angles though. Hadn't thought of that.

First, Thanks for the input and thoughts.

The sun and wind were brutal that day, it was just me and her. I could have waited for the sun to settle a bit more and fill by OCF, lesson learned, but I'm still looking for my patience.

It looks better and focuses on her. Did you try decreasing the exposure then adjusting the highlights? Also, shadow adjustment will tone it down. I like it as it is
