Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
So I usually post images that usually relate to each other, time for a change.

1. Get out your medicinal herb and check this out. I see a number of forms shapes and things in the cloud. I was looking through some of my shots from a few weeks ago (as I do, see if I missed something, better post editing idea's etc) and the original of this came up and I wondered if it would look better flipped, anyway for a joke a I mirrored it. Interesting.

Probably a little too full on for most.

2. I went to an engineering firm today to talk to a friend of a friend about fabricating some "accessories" (custom ball head etc) and took a couple shots while I was there. Notice the optical illusion? Only posted for that reason.

3. Undecided on this....

The last 2 are not usually my style, actually neither is the first, so I am interested to hear what you all think?

I love #2. It's like a modern Escher! The shavings seem a fraction off-focus, which is a shame. But overall it's a great picture.

I also like #1. It reminds me of the armageddon-type ending of a hollywood blockbuster! (Indiana Jones??). I love it!

#3 I can't really get excited about. It's nice. Nice colours. Nice shapes. Nice oil/water droplets. Nice lighting.

your mirrored sunset reminds me of a bad acid trip LOL.

I love the detail in No 3 and the colours. Not sure about the composition. Same with no 2 I think the composition just doesn't work for me but apart from that they are a good start. Did you take some images from some different angles?

As a former Tool & Die Maker, the second and third ones hold special interest for me. I think it might add to the frame if there was some active machining going on. The lathe turning something. Brass works beautifully because it's soft, so you can really crank though it, and it throws these beautiful gold colored chips off as you go. Brass was often my favorite to machine.

I'm afraid I don't see the optical illusion in the second one. Unless you're referring to the end mills in the center looking like the threaded studs next to them? Guess it'll have to be pointed out to me.

The first one, even going into it knowing what it is, there are still a ton of great things to appreciate. Beautiful colors, symmetry, looks like the sky is on fire erupting from the center.

All in all, well done, in my opinion. I definitely realize these are outside you normal realm, so with that in mind, Kudos!

Thanks Babs, the swarf (shavings) are/were in focus, actually the original is razor sharp from the front corner to the tools on top, but I found it distracting, its my post that made it look out, edited for effect. Noted.

Thanks burgo, trippy alright, pretty much only took 3 images while I was there, just a quick muck around. All the rest were from the same angle as 3 with differnet exposures, machine running etc.

Cheers crimbfighter, I did get some of the machine running but at 3500rpm and with the lubricant being jet blasted onto the aluminium there was not a lot too see, lol. A close up of a tool cutting brass or something as you suggest might look interesting, shallow DoF etc, strong lines.

The optical illusion is where the grid from the guard on the rear, where the lines interesect you may see greyish dots, where in fact there none.
