Angle

I know the angle of a picture matters, but how do you know which angles will work if you only have a chance for one shot?

Do you know or is it a hit and miss?

Do you mean angle as in perspective? If so, there is interest in seeing something from an uncommon perspective. I find a good starting point is trying to see a subject from a new and interesting perspective...lower than the eyes, higher...from behind...close up..along a leading line...

Study composition and keep it in mind while shooting until it becomes second nature. A good book to start with is The Photographer's Eye.
