Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Straight from the camera in RAW, no post. Where should I start with my post on this photo????

THis is nice, but unfortunately the right eye of the frog is out of focus. It looks like you juuuuust missed the getting the DOF right. You could try applying an unsharpen mask, which might help.

Thanks, I will give that a try. Here is another....Just wish it wasnt so bug ridden :er:

Lighten the toad (screen blending mode).
Darken everything else (multiply blending mode).
Warm it up a tad.
Raise the contrast (Softlight blending mode).
Sharpen fair amount (unsharp mask).
Final tone tweak in Levels.

Did you use layer masks??? Love your edit.

Layer masks would be a good way to approach it and would certainly achieve the same result, but in this case I just hand painted it directly using the History brush. I did dupe the layer to apply the Softlight blending mode which I applied to the entire photo.

Thank you for the help everyone! Like I said I am VERY new to this lol. But I am enjoying myself to the fullest!
I have been a tattoo artist for many years now and just recently got into photography after splurging on a decent camera because I could NEVER get a quality photo of any of my tattoos. Now I am hooked! lol

That line leading out of the frog's mouth is kind of distracting. Maybe clone it out? The frog also blends in a little too much to me. I know he's supposed to and all, but I would desaturate the background about 10-25% to make the frog stand out a little more.

Disagree with this advice. The left eye (the looking at us) is the one that should be in focus. The other isn't important in this shot. The important thing is that the eye we can see should be in focus. Which it is.

I think the DOF is just about right here.
