Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I have two small lights/low wattage fluorescents that I use with umbrellas. As soon as I get a trigger I plan to replace one with a flash and use it as my Key light...

My question... What can I expect as far as differences in light temperature and so on?

I wish I could afford a better lighting kit. But this will have to do for now...

It really depends on the temperature of the flourescent lights. If they're photo lights, then hopefully they're in the same colour range as flashes strobes (ideally around 5500K), BUT they can range from very cool to very warm. Your best bet is going to be shoot RAW with a white/grey card in the scene and correct to to that.

They are 5500k... At least that is what is printed on them... And I shoot RAW already. Thank you for you're comments.

You can expect to be disappointed. I realize fluorescent bulbs come in quite a variety of color temps, but this is not a good plan. Also, the exact color of the fluorescent will change over the course of it's short life.

I'm trying to imagine the benefit of replacing just one of your lamps, and I'm getting nothing. I would prefer to have matching fill and key.

Good luck!

I'd prefer it too... But circumstances are forcing me to have a very tight budget atm. When I am able... i will buy a better system. But for now I'll Macivor what I can...

So why are you not sticking with what you're using now? It's a better situation than mismatched lamps.
