Another "photograpy isn't permitted here" story

I suggest the Huntington Library, very scenic, plenty of room and while they charge a fee ... you are pretty much unrestricted and left alone.

So do you mean on the grounds? They charge a fee if you want to say show up with model and shoot under a tree for instance. Is that what you're saying?

Geeze that's a little harsh. Do they provide refreshments along with the paid fee? ;)

You could get away with that for a short time if you act as if the model is your girl/boy friend and you you don't have any extra equipment on you which says "commercial photographer". But is the few snaps under a tree turns into a photo shoot they will have a chat with you.

The Huntington is a private park/museum, you gotta pay to get in with or without a camera ... 99% of the places in metro SoCal won't let you make money, take up more than your fair share of space and be a nusiance to others without a fee.

If you want to go on the cheap try the deserts or maybe some isolated coastline in Santa Barbara or Ventura County cuz 99% of all the public places in metro SoCal have rules and fees.
