I can almost guarantee it's timing and onboard flash.

And I used the 18-55mm lens.

I tried to get rid of the white stuff:

Awesome. The only other thing i can suggest is to clone out those 5 little marks/ reflections that look like scratches on the apple. (under the stem kinda)

Can you explain the set-up of the shot? What kind of container did you drop the apple into?

On second thought you are just pouring water on the apple right?

I did it in my sink.
I put the apple in there and then I turned the water on and let it fall just a little off the center.
