So here is another squirrel shot from Saturday. It's all I got, it's been too cold for the birds even to make an appearance!!
But I am trying different things as I learn how to use my camera, reading books, your posts and trying to apply everything!
So I know that all the photos I took saturday are underexposed, from what I gather, I am getting a false meter reading from the snow. I read in a book and on several websites that one thing I can do (especially since it is winter now) is to adjust the EV (Exposure Value) which on my camera is EC (Exposure compensation I beleive) either +1/3 to +1 and this should help my meter. See, I thought that just moving the stops up a couple times that it would compensate for the snow, but if I am getting this, my meter still is messing me up regardless. So if I move the EV + for the snow, I may get better metering. (Please correct me if I have been mislead here)
Anyway, here is that shot both are jpegs ---first is unedited, the second is lightened and sharpened a little bit. Didn't do much to saturation or hue.. I may not continue to do raw because I am unfamiliar with editing photos... however with that said I am not opposed to learning, if someone wants to use my unedited shot and give me a quick how to... I guess at this point I wonder if I am doing even a halfway decent job..
Thank You!
