C&C's are welcome

I really like it  I had some pictures with bee's on flowers but lost the card they were on :grumpy: but yours is much nicer anyways. How do you make the and look so clear and the back round the way it is. I try to do that with some of my pics but it's like everything is in focus.

for getting that very shallow depth of field what i use is a sakar canon mount 28mm 2.8 on a reverse lens adapter(nikon mount) it's pretty cheap compared to a high-end macro lens.
in the end of my adapter there is a thread mount which fits a 52mm size filter. so any lens that has a 52mm thread size will fit. i usually choose an old, single focal length, lens(preferably 50mm, 35mm and below) because they have aperture control rings. believe it or not, i shot this at f/11 and still gave me a very shallow DOF. to get that crisp image, i shoot everything with a flash and a light modifier i shoot with a flash bracket and an artificial light source like a flash and in my case, a sb-800.

I treat every insect that i shoot like models in a studio. everything is controlled except for the model ;)

i shot this with a shutter speed of 1/125s, aperture of f/11 and iso of 100
just like the usual studio settings for a standard portrait with studio flashes
