Are there any audiophiles here?
I have a couple of questions:
-I have a set of old Bozak speakers, of incredible quality, except that one driver is busted. I have been told that re-coning the driver will make it sound worse than the original. That's why I'm thinking that actually buying another driver might be a better choice, so they're perfectly matched. Or, re-cone both drivers that I have, to get a balanced performance. Any opinions on this? BTW, the driver is an 8 inch Bozak model B 800Bc.
-I also have a power amp, a BGW 500D, which puts out either 500W mono or 2x250W stereo. When I turn it on it shuts itself off, seems like some electro-magnetic fuse (interruptor) is activated. Anyone might know if this is a serious problem?
I would like to plug a NAD 3120 amp (as a pre-amp) into the BGW power amp and then connect to the Bozak speakers. I have heard the Bozaks on a Parasound power amp and they are none less than fantastic.
Any help/ideas will be appreciated.
