Any tool do you use to encrypt your pictures?

Do you use some tools to encrypt your pictures? I want to encrypt my photos but don't know how to do that, any suggestion?

You can encrypt them just like any other file.

Are you in the United States? Not sure what's available to you if you're not - most of what we have available here is restricted for export.

yes, many of the programs available inside the us are not available for sale or distribution outside of the us.

google truecrypt. you can encrypt an entire drive, or create an encrypted file that can be used to store files and folders. i ran with an entire drive encrypted for quite some time before i decided that it just wasnt worth it. when you first boot the encrypted drive will not be seen in windows explorer, but when you launch the application you can tell it to "mount" the volume and then everything you drop in there will be encrypted transparently.

for added security you can also create an encrypted volume within the larger volume with two separate keys/passwords. this way if you ever run into it and someone sees you have an encrypted volume (which they can tell a volume is encrypted btw) you can give them the first key to the main volume and have some junk files there so they can see you do keep stuff there. then you put all your really important stuff (like your pictures) in the sub-volume. as said earlier, its easy enough to see that a volume is encrypted, but due to the nature..its really not possible for them to tell that there is an encrypted volume inside the encrypted volume.

its a neat application and fun to play with, and it didnt cause any performance hit, but i just felt for me personally it wasnt needed.

If you're wanting to keep them private just on your own computer that's really suspicious.

I get the feeling Tylers on the right track. Encrypting images stored on a personal computer would seem to be of specific interest to owners of the type of pornography that could land them in jail.

OK, well I guess the law actually relaxed a lot recently, so there are probably very few programs that still cannot be exported.

If you live in a terrorism supporting state (Cuba, Iran, Sudan, or Syria. Iraq, Libya & North Korea were recently taken off of the list...) none of the new relaxations of the law apply - everything is still illegal to export to those countries.

It sounds like the software itself is OK to export, but the computer it's installed on still isn't. If you ("you" being a US citizen) traveled to a foreign country, it would be illegal (without prior authorization) for you to take your laptop if you had some kinds of software installed on it.
